I am pleased so pleased to announce that my piece “Jamaican” had been accepted for inclusion and won 2nd Place in the http://www.colorsofhumanityartgallery.com/ April 2016 show, “Human Nature”.  Multiple accepted entries came from 13 different states in the USA and 8 other countries: Belarus, Canada, China, Germany, Israel, Portugal, Russian Federation, and Ukraine.  A variety of styles and mediums were entered including, acrylic, beeswax, chalk, charcoal, colored pencil, digital, ink, mixed media, oil, pastel, pencil, photography, tempera, thread, and watercolor.  The judging criterion was originality, interpretation, quality, demonstration of ability, and usage of medium. Other factors, such as the clarity of the images provided and their ability to be viewed online, also contributed to their decision.  I am so excited because this particular piece has already won 3 different awards already including the W. Cliff Packer award right here in Manitoba at the MSA Juried Exhibition last year.
