So I’m beginning to develop the fur on this guy. I’m using Payne’s Gray, Dark Sepia, Walnut Brown and a number of the warm and cool grays. On top of that believe it or not, I’m using Prismacolor Pink Rose, Black Grape and cloud blue as well. This ties in with constant observation of your subject and using colors that are reflected from the light all around and how it reacts and consequently painting what you actually see and not what you think you know. Using only browns and grays would result in a flat and unrealistic piece.
